ADC Snapshot interviews with pre-incubator participants! Meet the founder of Previu Crista Repo➡️
I’m Crista Repo and my background is in fashion and visual design. Fashion, to me, is an art form that enables individuals to express themselves creatively. However, it deeply troubles me that fashion holds the unfortunate distinction of being the second most polluting industry in the world. I’m passionate about creating innovative ways that allow us to enjoy fashion without the excessive strains on the environment.
The business idea: With the rise of social media many feel pressured to have different outfits for every post, leading to faster trend cycles and more waste. I’m developing an online platform for fashion enthusiasts where users can leverage new technologies such as AR to experiment with virtual outfits. The platform offers digital versions of clothing for social media images which I hope will fulfill the majority of their needs.
What made you apply to the ADC programme? Aalto University is renowned as one of the top universities in the world, and @aaltostartupcenter has been ranked among the top three university business accelerator programs globally. Knowing this, I was confident that I’d receive exceptional training and support of the highest caliber. One key aspect that stood out to me was the program`s provision of access to Aalto`s outstanding facilities and resources.
Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme: @aaltostudios resources such as AR/VR equipment. Getting support and feedback. Meeting like-minded people on a similar journey.
What are your next steps? There are still numerous avenues to explore digital fashion. I need to conduct further research to determine the most promising approach at present. In the meantime, I’ll continue promoting digital fashion through social media with the hope of getting more people aware and excited about it. Additionally, I intend to offer digital solutions to fashion businesses enabling them to adapt to this evolving landscape.
Greetings to ADC followers: Thank you for having me on the program! If you are interested in digital fashion, follow my progress @crista_repo
ADC Snapshot interviews with pre-incubator participants! Meet the founder of Darades Garry Normoyle ➡️
The team: I’m the founder and CEO of Darades with over 15 years of experience as a designer, artisan, and design engineer. I have previously founded a furniture making company where the idea for Darades was conceived.
I collaborate with Sam Chovanec who is an expert in developing immersive experiences through the use of Blender and Unreal Engine. Currently finishing his PhD in extended reality in Bratislava, he has also worked for several years at the National Gallery of Slovakia, honing his skills in aesthetics and attention to detail.
The business idea: Darades is an innovative XR platform that brings together artisans and a global audience in a unique digital showroom. With its immersive experience and customizable products, Darades offers a new way for customers to discover and connect with artisans, promoting creativity and sustainability.
What made you apply to the ADC programme? A colleague was in the 2022 Autumn batch at ADC. We were speaking one day and he recommended the program to me. After looking into the program, I immediately saw how valuable that ADC could be to my business.
Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme: Access to the Aalto Startup Center’s experts for guidance, mentoring and advice.
The facilities that Aalto Studios has are unmatched and the ability to access these facilities to build, grow and promote a company is amazing.
Aalto Startup Center’s events like the easter breakfast have been a great way to meet people.
What are your next steps? Darades will focus on expanding its artisan network, attracting a larger customer base, and further enhancing the XR digital showroom experience. We plan to track material usage and carbon footprint, ensuring transparency and sustainability throughout the supply chain.
Greetings to ADC followers: Follow us at @darades_studios !

ADC Snapshot interviews with pre-incubator participants! Meet the co-founder of Campfire Sami Jahnukainen ➡️
The team: I’m a film and XR-producer, and the CEO and co-founder of Donkey Hotel, a creative studio of audiovisual content based in Helsinki. Our team consists of award-winning filmmakers, digital creatives and producers. We are specialized in story-driven VR content, but we embrace the art of immersive media in full.
The business idea: Campfire is an immersive portal to story-driven virtual reality experiences.
What made you apply to the ADC programme? The desire to develop the project with professional tutors and talented and motivated peers.
Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme:
The chance to concentrate on developing the project on a weekly basis.
Tutoring and guidance in multiple disciplines of business.
Meeting my pre-incubator peers.
What are your next steps? We wish to find a partnering investor who shares our vision, set up a joint company and build the product together.

ADC Snapshot interviews with pre-incubator participants! Meet the founders of Taimio Anna Li and Fiia Kitinoja ➡️
The team: Our backgrounds are in architecture, landscape architecture and urban design. We share a passion for plants and outdoors in general, and want to do what we can to help create a more sustainable future.
The business idea: Smart modular planters, that combine the flexibility of traditional plant pots with the benefits of hydroponic growing systems. We are currently developing the prototype of a planter that works as a standalone module, or together with identical modules. This ensures a low barrier for entry, while enabling the possibility to scale up as the user’s confidence in gardening skills grows.
What made you apply to the ADC programme? We learned the process of rapid prototyping and got the idea for the product on the Digital Fabrication course in -22. ADC programme seemed like a natural continuation to learn more about the business side, of how to bring an idea into a reality.
Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme:
Coaching sessions. We had very little knowledge about business. Through the different workshops and coaching sessions, we learned so much about what goes into setting up a profitable business.
Network building. Meeting experts from different industries has been hugely valuable to us. As well as learning more about the importance of it and gaining some necessary skills for successful networking.
Peer support. Talking with other groups with similar mindsets and aspirations is great. The community makes you realise you are not alone, and many people have the same struggles.
What are your next steps? Developing our prototype with all the knowledge we gained from the programme. We hope to reach a stage where we can bring a physical product to market and make it easier for people to integrate planting into their home.
