The A Pod has two options for locally recording sound; either using just the R\u00d8DECaster interface<\/strong> direct to your memory card or using audio software on the iMac<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some services, such as Panopto, record directly to server so no transfer of files is needed. Find out more about Panopto from the Aalto OPIT Panopto documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We offer no storage<\/strong> beyond your session, so you’ll need to bring your own media, or have a cloud based solution at hand. The iMac is not an Aalto Workstation, so logging into your Aalto account is not supported, but you can instead connect remotely to access your home or work folder as files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device has a standard Micro SD Card slot conveniently placed at the back of the device. Plug in, record, plug out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our curated collection of web browsers allows you to connect to online services, such as SoundCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, your personal web site and others. Simple and familiar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as this is a public computer, we recommend you sign out from these services or run the ’Clean Up A Pod Guest’ app when all transfers are 100% complete and done. Privacy for you and a fresh experience for the next A Pod user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To access your Aalto home or work folder: in the Finder select \u201dGo > Connect to Server\u2026\u201d from the menu bar and enter either smb:\/\/home.org.aalto.fi<\/a> or smb:\/\/work.org.aalto.fi<\/a> as your destination. Or if you’re in the A Pod right now, just click these links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For FTP, WebDav, S3 and all that, we have a copy of CyberDuck<\/a> installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>\u2026to a disk drive, USB stick or an SD card<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The easiest way to plug in a drive or stick using USB-A is through the right hand side patch bay on the table. Behind the iMac you’ll also find an SD Card slot. Be careful not to unplug any of the other cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Or just use AirDrop<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Apple devices, such as Macs, iPhones and iPads support direct transfer through AirDrop. On the A Pod iMac, open an AirDrop window in the Finder, then on your device make sure it’s set to accept connections from everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
