Mobile Systems Programming course at Aalto presents a guest lecture about “State of the Art in VR” by Steven LaVille, Vice President and Chief Scientist of VR/AR/MR at Huawei Technologies.

LaVille’s research interests are robotics, virtual reality, sensing, planning and human-computer interaction. He was an early founder and the chief scientist of Oculus VR and currently an active angel investor and adviser to startup companies and venture capitalists.

He is also a professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He has published over 150 scientific articles and three books, called Planning Algorithms (2006), Sensing and Filtering (2012) and Virtual Reality (2017). The books are available online for free.

His lecture will be at the CS building, T1, on Tuesday 19th of September at 14-16. All Aalto people welcome!
