Hybrid Stage Pilot – Construction Underway

As one of the developments taking us closer to the future event space, which will be built in Otakaari 2A, the construction of the Hybrid Stage Pilot has started in Harald Herlin Learning Center’s K-floor.

With the Hybrid Stage it will be possible to organize events tailored for simultaneous on-site and online participation. Furthermore, it will enable reaching a larger audience by opening local events to a global crowd. The purpose of this new space is to build a digital events concept that makes use of professional audiovisual technology solutions in an efficient manner but with high quality.

This state-of-the-art hybrid event setup will have a wall of video monitors as a background. To ensure a discreet look for the set, white pipes are installed for rigging the lighting. In terms of audio, the distributed speakers allow perfect control of sound levels throughout the space. A variety of angles for covering the event will be achieved by equipping the stage with four high quality robotic cameras.

The Hybrid Stage booking system opens in June together with detailed instructions regarding what type of events gain added value through using it. The stage can only be used for organizing hybrid events. For using the hybrid stage you will always get full service which means that experienced technical staff will be there to provide support.

The Hybrid Stage Pilot’s construction periods between 2.5.-3.6.2022 and 29.6.-1.9.2022 will cause some changes to services located at the Harald Herlin Learning Center’s K-floor. Due to the construction noise, the A Pod, Self Service Studio and Mini Studio are closed for May. During the closure, the A Pod and the Self Service Studio are getting an update for improved acoustics. After the update, the A Pod can be found in a new location at the back of the K-floor.

For the time these services are unavailable, the remote teaching studios in Väre, the Media Cube in Otakaari 1 and room 317 in Otakaari 4 are available. These spaces can be reserved via the ASIO booking system. Unfortunately, there are no substituting services for the A Pod during this time.

Some studio time will be made available in June as soon as the construction noise quiets down. In August, when the construction of the stage advances to its testing phase together with hardware and software installment, other services will be open as usual.
