Aalto Studios congratulates all the winners of the first time ever organised IMAGO International Awards for Cinematography. IMAGO, the European Federation of Cinematographers, celebrated their 25th anniversary in the awards hosted by the Finnish Society of Cinematographers FSC.
The gala was organised on 28th of October at Hanasaari Cultural Centre in Espoo and was also the celebration of the main sponsor ARRI’s 100th anniversary. We at Aalto Studios were glad to take part in the celebration as an official partner.
The cinematographers at the gala came from all the 53 IMAGO member countries, many of them multiple award winners, such as Fabian Wagner, who was awarded the best cinematography in TV drama for his filming of the Game of Thrones episode The Winds of Winter.
Łukasz Żal (in the picture) won the best cinematography in documentary films for the film Icon and Seamus McGarvey the best feature films for the film Nocturnal Animals.
Awards were also given to emerging talent, extraordinary technical achievements, life time contribution to the art of cinematography and lifetime achievement in cinematogrpahy.
