General Safety Rules
- Before using any technical equipment ask for instructions from our studio staff
- Students must complete a safety orientation with a studio master before using the space.
- Work safety regulations need to be obeyed
- Working Alone is Forbidden; at least two people must be present if technical staff is not available.
- Technical staff needs to be present at the studio during every production
- Long working hours must be sorted out in advance
- Working hours must be sorted out and agreed to with studio staff in advance
- You must have house permission in advance to have more than 60 people in the studio
- makeup room must be booked separately?
Fire & Safety regulations
- Emergency Contacts: Keep contact numbers accessible and familiarize yourself with the rescue plan available at OTK5L Rescue Plan.
- Exits: Keep all exits clear. Do not obstruct them with sets or equipment.
- Confirm the air conditioning schedule and necessary disconnections with maintenance in advance if using smoke machines.
- Provide the exact Time schedule, well in advance, when air conditioning machines should be turned OFF.
- Fog machine usage must be coordinated with the studio’s safety regulations and staff.
- If you’re working with fire, candles etc., you must have written permission from house owner Aalto-studios/ACRE
- Studio is equipped with fire alarms system, shutdown of the fire alarm is done by authorized person
- Smoking in the studio is forbidden
- Emergency exits must be kept clear of goods and free to pass through
- Using water, fire, dust and other dirty materials must be sorted out with staff in advance
Rigging and Lifts
- Use lifts / trusses only after staff instructions
- Chain lifts are 250 kg per lift
- All rigging points on the roof are 400 kg per point
- Lights must be rigged safely to trusses and clamp screw must be tightened
- Safety wires must be used in every rigging on the trusses / roof
- Every light must have safety wire on the lamp / truss
- Every light barn door must have its own safety wire on the lamp
Doors and Keys, Closing protocol
- All doors must be closed
- Lights must be switched off. The front exit must be locked
- The Last person leaving the studio should make sure that all power plugs from the studio space’s electricity panel are unplugged
- Last person must switch on the house alarm system?
- Ensure all equipment is unplugged and returned to its original location.
- Shut all doors, turn off all lights, and activate the alarm system before exiting.
- Lock the front exit securely upon departure.
- Clean the space after your production, all the equipment should return to their original locations
- All tapes and marks on the floors and walls must be removed after production
